Kick Off Club Another Great Success

Our “Kick off Club” December luncheon was our largest attendance ever. MC for the day was former Radio announcer, Football commentator and Ex Souths Magpie Col Thompson. He was extremely excited to be working with such a large audience in attendance. We would like to thank all members for their attendance and great support throughout the past year and are looking forward to many more great days like December in the coming year.

The Kick off Club Committee would like to sincerely thank the Bronco’s Leagues Club, for making available the Captains Room and Darcy Mitchell room for our luncheons. A very special thank you to Function Coordinator Julie Vadervelt for the presentation of both rooms and her valued assistance and also, to Dave Mason the No 1 Chef for his provision of the excellent choice of menu. This was gratefully appreciated by all in attendance. We can’t let this opportunity pass without making special mention to Nev Weir for his most generous support and contributions to the Kick off Club.

Our guest speaker John Ribot was interviewed by the great football commentator of yester year, Ross Lawson. Ribot gave an excellent account of his rugby league career through the current positions of board member and administrator of many large associations. Secrets do come out and he revealed how a certain high ranking Rugby League official hung one on him that made him feel real tough on the chin because he still stayed on his feet.

Our Brisbane Kick off Club would like to extend our congratulations to Dudley Beattie and Gray Parcel for being inducted as Park View Honouree. They were very pleased to receive this honour because they had extra work load, with Noel Kelly always getting first use of the hot water.

Kerry Bousted, ex Queensland and International winger will be our guest speaker at the Broncos Leagues club on Wednesday 17th of February 2010.

At our luncheon on 15th of April, our guest speaker will be Professor Joey Baker ex Eastern Suburbs legend.
