300 Club - Andrew Ettingshausen

DOB: 27 October 1965

Played 328 games (1983-2000)

For years he was "the face" of Rugby League - the man who attracted more female fans to the Game than anyone before him. But Andrew Ettinghausen was not just a pretty face. One of the greatest try-scorers the game has known, "ET" was a fixture on the first-grade and representative scenes for years.
ET started his first-grade career with the Cronulla Sharks in 1983 at the tender age of 18. Beginning his career as a fullback, ET struggled to reach any great heights until the 1985 season. Scoring 10 tries as a winger, Ettinghausen cemented his spot in the Sharks' top grade side. A prolific try-scorer with some of the best hands in the game, ET rose to become not only a crowd favourite at Shark Park but one of the Game's most admired stars.
ET held a number of records including snaring five tries in one game against Illawarra in 1988. After some relatively lean years in the early 1990s due to injury and illness, Ettinghausen launched into the 1994 season with vigour and his 18 tries that year saw his tally for the club break the 100 mark.
From  1994 to 1996, ET was the most recognisable face in the Game, often being the focal point for the code's marketing campaigns.
