DOB: 5 February 1973
Played 301 games (1991-2005)
When it comes to the Roosters' favourite sons, Luke Ricketson is at the very top of the pile. Affectionately known as "Ricko", he played his entire career with the tri-colours and his 301 games is a club record. A Bondi United junior, Ricko was a true local boy & followed in the footsteps of his father Doug, who also played for Easts. He debuted in the tr-colours' first grade team in 1991 at the age of 18 and remained a fixture at the club. Ricketson earned a deep respect among the red, white & blue faithful for his tireless service to the Bondi Junction club. A true workhorse, Ricko's defence was his trademark and his effiorts in this regard often inspired his teammates to victory. While he played most of his career at Lock, Ricketson began his first grade days as a winger and centre, moving close to the middle of the action as his career progressed. His ability to read the game and place himself in the right place at the right time to snuff out an opposition attacking raid went a long way towards Ricko's selection in the NSW Blues & Australia sides.
A true Roosters legend, Ricketson is right at home in the Men of League 300 Club.
