300 Club - Steve Price

DOB: 13 March 1974

Played 313 games (1994-2009)

A favourite son of both the Bulldogs and, in latter years, the Warriors, Steve Price made his debut with Canterbury in 1994. The following year, he was instrumental in helping the Bulldogs claim the 1995 premiership decider against Manly. Scoring the opening try of the match, Price went on to help the Dogs forward pack dominate the more fancied Sea Eagles big men. Born to be a rep player for Queensland, Price saw his rep career stalled by the Super League war. But following the 1998 reunification of the game, he was a reserve forward for all three State of Origin matches. Price was among the Dogs' best players in 1998, but even he could not help his team in the Grand Final against a rampant Brisbane.
He assumed the Bulldogs captaincy in 2002, just in time for one of the club's darkest periods when they were stripped of competition points due to the salary cap breaches. Injury saw Price miss the Bulldogs' 2004 Grand Final win, but such was his contribution during the year he was hoisted onto the shoulders of his victorious teammates.
That year Price signed a 3 year deal with the New Zealand Warriors.
