The Men of League organised a special experience for Greg Baggott and his wife Joanne to give Greg a break from dealing with motor neurone disease. Greg and Joanne were greeted at the airport by Men of League welfare duo Ron Pearce and John Peard and CEO Martin Cook and the five enjoyed lunch together.
That afternoon, Men of League arranged a surprise visit from Phil Blake, who started playing Rugby League with Greg when they were only four with the Forestville Ferrets and then Beacon Hill in the Manly Junior League, before graduating to the Sea Eagles together. Phil, who now coaches Manly rugby union, brought along co-coach at the Marlins and former Manly Sea Eagles first grader, Peter 'George' Cullen.
It was the last round of the NRL season so it was off to the Wests Tigers v Bulldogs at the SFS where Greg was delighted to meet his idol, Wally Lewis, the man whom which the trip was organised for Greg to meet. Greg and Joanne were stoked that Wally was able to sit down with them and Men of League Vice President, Jim Hall, for over an hour before the match.
On the Saturday, the couple ventured to Brookvale Oval for Greg to see his old club Manly defeat the Melbourne Storm 20 - 16, which was a nice way to round off a great weekend.
