On the 14th of November the Men of League Townsville committee was pleased to contribute to the Benefit Dinner for 25 year old former Cowboys player Sam Faust. Sam was still playing for Townsville Centrals when he was diagnosed with leukaemia earlier this year. Many members attended the dinner and a memorabilia club great was provided by Men of League for the auction. The event organised by North Queensland Cowboys, Townsville Centrals and Jupiter’s Townsville featured guest speaker Duncan Armstrong and addresses by Cowboys CEO Peter Parr, mentor and coach Grant Bell (“Belly stole half my speech!”), and team mate Paul Bowman. Emcee and comedian Ewan Jones, auctioneer Wayne Nicholson and Jeff Jimmeson’s band completed the program ensuring the night was a huge success both socially and financially.
