Duncan Hall-Hall played in the BRL for Fortitude Valley Diehards and represented Queensland and Australia. He has been named amongst the nation's finest footballers of the 20th century. Hall played 22 Tests for Australia 1948-1955 and in 2 Kangaroo Tours as well as 24 games for QLD 1948-1955.
Mick Retchless-Was a tough Valley’s centre from 1961-1971. He captained Valleys to premierships in 1970 and 1971. Mick played for QLD in 1968 and was QLD captain in 1969, then becoming an Australian selector in 1973 until 1979.
Marty Scanlan-Played with Valleys from 1963 until 1974 and was the premiership winning captain for Valleys in 1973 and 1974. Scanlan played for QLD and later went on to coach the Valleys.
Wally Lewis-Nicknamed The King , Lewis represented Queensland in thirty-one State of Origin games from 1980 to 1991, and was captain for thirty of them. He also represented Australia in thirty-three international matches from 1981 to 1991 and was national team captain from 1984 to 1989. Lewis
Norm Pope-One of the best attacking fullbacks seen in Queensland. A feared tackler and certainly one of the toughest players for Valleys or anywhere in the league. At the core of the Valleys club in the 50's and 60's. Still holds Brisbane club goal kicking and point scoring records. Played for Valleys 1950-52 and was captain coach in 1954-66.
