Recently our MOL committee presented a cheque to a very worthy local charity, namely Central Coast Kids In Need. This voluntary group of hard-working people raises funds to help parents of seriously ill children with their accommodation bills and travelling costs. Former President Ken Hey and Secretary Don Parish presented the cheque to Kids In Need Treasurer Rhonda Doyle and President Lorraine Churchill.
Central Coast MOL recently arranged for the donation of two auction items for the Kane Fleeton Golf Benefit Day at the Tuggerah Lakes Golf Club. One of the memorabilia pieces was a caricature of Freddie Fittler and the other was a picture of Ray Price and Mick Cronin, signed by both, after the 1986 grand final. This item was generously donated by former Parramatta and Australian player Ron Boden. The parents of Kane, who was seriously injured in a road accident, and our MOL branch are very grateful to the MOL Foundation for the donation of the Freddie Fittler memorabilia and other memorabilia donated by the Foundation in the past. The Foundation also helped in other aspects of Kane's treatment at the North Ryde Rehabilitation Centre.
